"I really enjoyed my trip to Kakegawa this summer. It was very easy to immerse myself into
the Japanese culture. All the people I stayed with were friendly and hospitable. I was always busy doing something
new and exciting. There was never a dull moment. One of the most interesting parts of the trip was assuming
the life of an average Japanese citizen. Although I was hit hard with jet lag, my host families made me feel very
comfortable. I enjoyed visiting Japanese temples and learning about Japan's rich history. At first, all the
new foods were intimidating. however, the more I ate, the easier it got to enjoy. Being able to travel with Ben
and Dan made the entire trip even better. It was great that I got to see familiar faces from Japan when students and
chaperones from Kakegawa came to America. I am very grateful that I was able to be part of such an important and worthwhile
overseas program. I recommend this program to other students in the Corning Area! " -Daniel Watson, student from Corning West High School
