The Corning-Kakegawa Sister Cities
Association was founded in 1989. Our Sister City relationhip emerged out of the business relationship that was being cultivated
between Osuka village and Corning Incorporated. After establishing a branch plant in Osuka, Corning Inc. decided to expand
their business relationship into one that united both communities in a more cultural way. For the past sixteen years, our
two communities have sponsored annual exchange visits, cultural events focusing on one another's home country, as well as
many other activities. In April of 2005, Osuka village merged with Kakegawa city and is now part of Kakegawa. We look forward
to many more years of fun, new friends, and bridging cultures through community.
